The day we went to see the South African penuins.

The first penguin that we saw was so close that we could touch it, but we weren't allowed to touch them, because they can bite!

Again, as we walked onwards, we came across three more of the black and white birds. I sat next to them, they weren't scared at all, in fact they were quite curious!
This is a South African penguin beach, you had to pay to get in, so we didn't go. :-[  Did you know that the South African penguins first name was the "Jackass" penguin, but there are "Jackass" penguins all over the world, so they decided to call the ones that lived in southern Africa: South African Penguins!
This is a South African penguin's nest. As you can see, there are two healthy eggs. Their eggs are a milky white, with brown speckles on it. [The nests are man made]

Robben Island

We are waiting for the boat that was going to take us to Robbin Island.
Mom said that we should sit on the rock in front of the BIG sculpture of the Elephant, so we did.

There was an adorable seal that had flopped up the stairs, and kept rolling, because the flies were annoying it!
This is Nelson Mandela's, the first black president in SA, prison cell, [if you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up on the Internet] They only gave the prisoners a bowl, a spoon, a pillow,  a thin matress and a blanket.
This is a Watchtower. Th prison guards sit in the top to see if any of the prisoners are trying to excape.

This place was for the people [whos relatives were prisoners] that came to visit.

On the way back to mainland it was so windy that moms hair went flying!!!!!

This is the amazing view!!!!!

Touch and Feed Farm!

We went to the touch and feed farm on accident!
We thought that it was a different place!
I was fun anyway though.
There was cute Parrots,

 And naughty Cockatoos!

It stole my cap, well, it tried to!

School on Holiday!

I went to school with with my cousins, their schooling is MUCH different to the schooling in New Zealand and, I couldn't understand a word of Afrikaans in the Afrikaans lesson!!!
There was plenty of time to go swimming after school with my cousins and their friends!!! We had a great time!

Vergelegen Wine farm

This place was built in the 1690's.

It was owned by Willem van der Stel, the third governor of the cape.

Mom enjoyed it, I thought it was okay, but I couldn't wait to go swimming when we got back home!!!
It was so hot that I was jealous of the cat who got to sleep in the shade, I wished I could fit in there too!!!

The Picnic lunch we had at Boschendal!

In these photos we are in Cape Town with my Aunt, Uncle, and my cousins, Ethan and Emma!

Our picnic lunch was so yummy!!!
This is the old farm house at Boschendal.

Brenton-on-sea beach!

This Beach is called Brenton-on-sea, its one of the beaches in Knysna. You could walk for miles!
These are our friends that we stayed with.
This is their dog, Chloe, she was SO cute!!

The only bad thing about the beach was all the jelly-fishes.

The Knysna Heads

On the 1st of February, we did a tramp through the Knysna Heads Nature reserve.

As you can see from the pictures, the scenery was amazingly beautiful!!!

There were BIG caves where the waves had worn away some of the rock.
The black stuff on the sand is Kelp.
This is where the Knysna Lagoon meets the sea!

[Just remember New Zealand is 11 hours ahead so that's why the photo says the 23rd]
